世界的な彫刻家でありデザイナーの五十嵐威暢氏の作品の展示および保存のため金沢工業大学内に作られた施設である。
既存建築の改修のため天井の低さと照明器具を収納する天井内のスペース不足が懸念された。そこでミニマムサイズのグレアレス器具の採用とランダム配置という方法でこの問題を解決した。また、照明器具を個別に制御できるDALIシステムを採用し、空間に露出するスポットライトの数を減らすことも試みた。

Takenobu Igarashi is both a world-renowned designer and sculptor, and the Igarashi Takenobu Archive was built inside the Kanazawa Institute of Technology to display and preserve his artworks.

An existing building was refurbished to house the Archive, and there were concerns over the low height of its ceilings and the lack of space above the ceilings to house lighting equipment. These issues were overcome by using compact, glareless lighting equipment that was randomly arranged, while the adoption of a DALI system enabled individual lighting devices to be controlled independently, allowing a reduction in the number of spotlights used.
